Discover Satoyama living
We offer thoughtfully curated experiences that invite guests to engage with the rhythms of satoyama life— from harvesting alongside mushroom growers, to fruit picking of pears, strawberries, and watermelons, as well as gathering rakkyō in the Tottori Sand Dunes. Through hands-on interaction with nature and seasonal produce, these experiences encourage guests to create with their own hands, fostering ingenuity and a spirit of discovery.
Gymnasium & Fireside Gatherings
Under a sky filled with countless stars—where the Milky Way reveals itself in all its brilliance— guests are invited to gather around a crackling fire upon the schoolyard lawn, listening to the gentle pop of burning wood as they share moments of quiet conversation. Within the gymnasium, trampolines and bouldering facilities are thoughtfully provided, offering a playful interlude to rediscover the simple joy of one’s childhood.
Wakasa Railway
Step aboard the Wakasa Railway—“a moving museum”—and journey back to the early Showa era. Its nostalgic atmosphere, paired with a wealth of historical railway heritage, forms its greatest allure. Along the line unfolds a timeless panorama of rural Japan—serene countryside and graceful mountain vistas that evoke the nation’s original landscape. From rows of cherry blossoms in spring, to vivid green fields in summer, to richly hued autumn foliage, and tranquil winter snowscapes, each season offers a breathtaking view to be savored from the train window. The carriages themselves are designed by Eiji Mitooka, renowned for the celebrated “Seven Stars in Kyushu.” At Wakasa Station, the final stop, the rail yard showcases preserved locomotives, including rare steam (SL) and diesel (DL) engines, warmly welcoming railway enthusiasts. Here, history, nature, and the romance of rail travel converge in a truly exceptional experience.
